2. Vermont<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s beautiful, quiet, and full of maple syrup. That\u2019s great if you\u2019re into pancakes or leaf-peeping, but Vermont\u2019s population is so tiny it might as well be Canada\u2019s backyard. Also, do we really need two Dakotas and a Vermont? The redundancy feels excessive.<\/p>\n

With more cows than people, Wyoming could disappear tomorrow, and most Americans wouldn\u2019t notice for weeks. It\u2019s mostly just Yellowstone and a few small towns. Even Wyoming\u2019s largest city, Cheyenne, feels like it\u2019s cosplaying as a capital.<\/p>\n

Bill Clinton came from Arkansas, and that\u2019s kind of where the conversation ends. The state\u2019s tourism slogan is \u201cThe Natural State,\u201d which feels like a polite way of saying, \u201cWe have nothing else going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

5. Nebraska<\/h3>\n

Mount Rushmore is South Dakota\u2019s big draw, but it\u2019s debatable if that\u2019s enough to justify an entire state. Once you\u2019ve snapped your photo, you\u2019re left with the Badlands\u2014which, while lovely, aren\u2019t enough to make South Dakota a \u201cmust-visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

8. Idaho<\/h3>\n

Yes, it gave us potatoes, and we\u2019re forever grateful. But Idaho\u2019s main personality trait is \u201cpotatoes,\u201d and after that, it\u2019s just mountains and Boise (which feels like it\u2019s perpetually trying to prove it\u2019s cool, but isn\u2019t).<\/p>\n

Alaska is gorgeous, sure, but it\u2019s also so isolated that it might as well be its own country. It\u2019s freezing most of the year, wildly expensive, and unless you\u2019re into salmon fishing or oil drilling, what are you really doing up there?<\/p>\n

10. Rhode Island<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s the smallest state, yet somehow still struggles to have an identity. Providence tries its best, but Rhode Island is mainly known for being\u2026 not Connecticut? It\u2019s like the appendix of the United States\u2014you know it\u2019s there, but you\u2019re not really sure why.<\/p>\n
